Privacy Policy
Effective date: 5 June 2026. This policy explains what data MyTalker handles, why, and the rights you have. Our users are often children and people with disabilities, and the sensors involved are sensitive, so privacy is a core feature, not an afterthought.
Plain-language summary
Camera frames, raw microphone audio, biometrics, and precise location are processed on your device only and are never uploaded. Only a coarse place label, the words you chose to speak, and aggregate routine stats sync, and only with your consent. You can export or delete everything at any time. We never sell your data, never track you across apps, and never use advertising identifiers. When you come from one of our ads, we measure that conversion with first-party information only, see section 5.
1. Who we are (data controller)
MyTalker is operated by Business Solutions, LLC ("MyTalker", "we", "us"). For privacy questions, data requests, or to reach our data protection contact, email mytalker@solutions.co. Registered address: [REGISTERED ADDRESS — to be completed]. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, see section 11 for our representative.
2. The data we process, and why
Stays on your device, never uploaded: camera images used for scanning and gaze, raw microphone audio, any biometric signals, and precise location. We do not receive or store these. (The one exception is opt-in: if you turn on sharing your precise location with a caregiver, see "Caregivers and guardians" below; it is off by default.)
Processed to give you the answer you asked for: when you use a cloud feature (understanding speech, composing a reply, generating a picture symbol or a menu), the relevant text or image is sent to our AI providers to produce the result, then discarded beyond a short functional cache. See section 6.
Synced only with your consent, tied to your account: a coarse place label (for example "kitchen" or a neighborhood), the words and phrases you chose, your saved people/things/photos, and aggregate routine statistics. We use these only to power your predictions and your dashboard, never to profile you for others.
Where you go (coarse, not a trail): when you pick or arrive at a place, we may store a coarse, rounded location (about a city block) with that visit, used only to suggest your usual nearby places back to you. We never store a continuous location trail. Live "nearby" updates run only while the app is open and you are on the Places screen; nothing runs in the background. For a child's profile, these coarse visit locations are stored only if a parent or guardian turns on live location.
Account and billing: if you create an account, your email and authentication data; if you subscribe in the future, billing is handled by the app store or our payment processor (we do not store full card numbers).
Diagnostics: anonymous, content-free product-usage counts (which screens are opened, whether a reply was spoken, whether a picture symbol was found) to keep the app working and improve it. No speech, replies, or message text are included. Never used for advertising or sold.
Help improve MyTalker (off by default): if you turn this on in settings, we keep short-lived examples of what Listen suggested and the reply you built, so our reviewers can improve suggestion quality. It is revocable anytime, restricted to our reviewers, and auto-deleted after 30 days. For a child's profile, a parent or guardian must turn it on.
Remember my replies (off by default): if you turn this on in settings, MyTalker keeps, on your own private profile, the questions you hear and the replies you choose for them, so it can suggest your real answers first the next time you hear a similar question. It is used only to improve your own predictions, is never shared with our reviewers or anyone else, and you can turn it off and delete it anytime.
3. Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: consent (for syncing your words, places, photos, and any optional cloud or voice features; you may withdraw it anytime); performance of a contract (to provide the account and features you request); and legitimate interests (to keep the service secure and working), balanced against your rights. For any special-category data, processing is on-device and not collected by us.
4. Children and parental consent
MyTalker is built to be safe for all ages, including children with special needs. Accounts for minors require verified parental or guardian consent, and biometrics and precise location are off by default. We do not knowingly collect more personal data from a child than is needed to provide the communication features. Parents and guardians can review, export, or delete a child's data at any time by contacting us. We comply with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and GDPR Article 8; the age of valid consent without a parent varies by country (13 to 16).
Caregivers and guardians (the caregiver app)
You can link a caregiver, parent, or clinician to a profile so they can support communication. Linking happens only by an invite code that you (or, for a child's profile, the parent or guardian who owns it) create, and it can be revoked at any time. A linked caregiver can see, according to the scopes you grant: recent words and visited places, a symbol chat with you, and, only if you turn it on, your shared location. We never link a caregiver without that explicit, revocable consent. This is caregiver support, with you (or your guardian) in control of every share.
Location sharing is opt-in and off by default. When you turn it on, only a coarse place label (for example "school") is shared with your caregiver; precise coordinates stay on your device unless you separately turn on precise sharing. You can turn either off at any time. For a child's profile, a parent or guardian must turn it on.
For minors, the parent or guardian who owns the profile controls all caregiver links and consents, consistent with COPPA and GDPR Article 8 (section 4). Caregiver-visible history is bounded: opt-in "Help improve" examples auto-delete after 30 days, and you can delete your own words and history from the app at any time.
5. Advertising measurement, done privately
We do not use your data for cross-app or cross-site tracking, we do not sell or share it for advertising, we serve no third-party ads inside the app, and we use no advertising identifiers. No third-party advertising or analytics tag runs on the communication screens.
When you arrive from one of our own ads (for example on Google or the App Store), we measure that visit using first-party information only: a Google click id and campaign tags captured on our marketing pages and stored in our own database, plus Apple's privacy-preserving Search Ads attribution, which uses no advertising identifier and triggers no App Tracking Transparency prompt. We report conversions to Google and Apple from our server, to understand which ads work, never to profile you.
6. Service providers and international transfers
We use a small number of processors strictly to deliver features you request: Google (AI text and image generation, and maps/places lookup), Anthropic (AI summaries and replies), the Apple App Store (distribution and, in future, in-app purchases), and a payment processor such as Stripe for any web subscription. These providers process data on our behalf under data-processing agreements and only as needed.
Some of these providers are based in the United States, so data you choose to send to a cloud feature may be transferred outside your country. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep data
On-device data stays until you delete it on your device. Synced account data is kept while your account is active and deleted (or anonymized) within a reasonable period after you delete it or close your account. Functional caches of AI results are short-lived. Diagnostics are retained only as long as needed to fix problems. Opt-in "Help improve MyTalker" examples are auto-deleted after 30 days. Marketing attribution records are kept for about 90 days.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights to access, correct, delete, export (portability), restrict, or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can export or delete your data directly in the app, or email mytalker@solutions.co. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither).
9. Security
We protect data in transit with encryption (standard HTTPS) and limit access to synced data. The strongest protection is structural: the most sensitive inputs never leave your device. No system is perfectly secure, but we design to minimize what is collected in the first place.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will post the new effective date here and, for material changes, give notice in the app.
11. EU/EEA and UK representative
If we do not have an establishment in the EU/EEA or UK, our appointed representative under GDPR Article 27 / UK GDPR is: [EU/UK REPRESENTATIVE — to be completed]. You may contact them or us about how we handle your data.
